Genesis follows the story of Asphodel, ‘EI’, a university student whose highly addictive personality throws her into an underground research movement. Cyborg body parts, editing DNA, downloading memories, artificial intelligence, space colonization; as the group toys with each of these concepts, EI realizes the darker repercussions of human innovation. Meanwhile Jadus, the host of a popular tv show, preaches to biotechnologically re-engineer humans, what he thinks is the next step in our evolution. As EI gives up her body and mind to the group´s human testing and Jadus amasses a following that the press coin as a novel ‘movement’ defining the 21st century, both of their realities become unsurprisingly yet irrevocably linked.
